Introduction
Smart pricing lets you set a different price for a service depending on the day and time a client books. A price rule can lower the price to fill quiet mornings (an off-peak price) or raise it for the slots that sell out anyway (a peak price). Clients see the adjusted price on the time they pick, and the booked price is frozen onto the appointment. Price rules apply to online bookings only. Appointments your team books in the dashboard, appointment series and bookings made through the API keep the normal catalogue price. Find it under Catalogue > Smart pricing. Fresha calls its version Smart pricing too, so the name will be familiar if you have switched from there.Add a price rule
- Open Catalogue > Smart pricing and choose Add price rule.
- Give the rule a name, like “Weekday mornings”. Your team sees it on the appointment; clients see Off-peak price or Peak price.
- Choose Decrease price (off-peak) or Increase price (peak), then the amount as a percentage or a fixed amount. A decrease can be at most 90%.
- Choose the services: all services, or a selection. The “Priced … or more” filters (up to three price floors drawn from your own menu, in your currency, once you have four or more priced services) pick the services for you. The rule keeps that list, so a later price change never moves a service in or out.
- Set the days and times. Switch a day on, set its window, and use Add times for a second window on the same day. Windows only ever affect times clients can book online.
- Set the dates: Always, or Between two dates for a seasonal rule.
- Save rule. The preview above the button shows the arithmetic on one of the services you chose.
Rules can’t overlap. Two active rules cannot cover the same service on the same day at the same time. Bella refuses the save and names the rule it clashes with, so every time a client can book has exactly one price. Adjacent windows (9:00 am to 12:00 pm beside 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm) are fine.
Deactivate, archive or delete a rule
Use the row menu on a rule:- Deactivate keeps the rule in your list but stops it pricing anything. Activate switches it back on; Bella checks it still overlaps nothing.
- Archive takes it out of the list. Choose Archived in the filter to see archived rules and Restore one.
- Delete permanently removes it for good.
What clients see
- Time picker: a slot inside a rule’s window shows an Off-peak or Peak tag with the adjusted price, and the normal price struck through beside it. A slot outside every window carries no tag, and the cart shows the normal price.
- Booking page: a service with an off-peak rule shows its lowest price as the “from” price, with the normal price struck through and “Off-peak: save up to X%” (or the amount saved, for a fixed decrease). A service that only ever goes up shows its normal price with “Peak price at busy times”. Peak prices are always labelled, never hidden.
- Review and receipt: the line reads Off-peak price or Peak price.
How it fits with everything else
The adjusted price is simply the price of the line, exactly as a pricing tier price is. Everything else works on top of it:- Deposits are calculated from the adjusted price.
- Memberships, packages, promo codes, loyalty rewards and gift cards apply to the adjusted price, the same way they apply to a tier price. A member with 10% off pays 10% off the off-peak price, never more than a non-member.
- Add-ons are never adjusted. A rule changes the service’s price only.
- Bundles: a bundle with a set total price is adjusted once, and only when the rule covers every service in it. A bundle priced by its services adjusts each service.
- Pricing tiers and variants: the rule applies to the price the client’s team member and choice resolve to.
