Client reviews help build trust with potential clients. Bella Booking includes a built-in review system where only clients who completed an appointment can leave a review - ensuring all feedback is genuine.
Reviews are available on the Professional plan, and during your trial.
Search and filters choose which rows are listed. They do not change the order.To change the order, click a column heading that sorts. Unless the page says otherwise, the first click sorts text A to Z, and numbers and dates highest or newest first. Click the same heading again, or the heading the list already opens on, to reverse it. The arrow beside the heading shows the direction: up is A to Z, oldest first or lowest first, and down is Z to A, newest first or highest first.A heading that sorts by name ignores capital letters: “anna” and “Anna” sort together.The list opens newest first. Rating and Date sort, and the first click on Rating puts 5-star reviews first. Client, Review, Status, and Source do not sort.Search, status, rating, source, whether you have replied, and the date range are filters.
Review requests invite a client to leave a review after their appointment is checked out. They can go out automatically, or you can send one on demand:
Automatic: Configured in Settings → Automated messages → Review request. Sent on your chosen channel (SMS, email, or both) after a configurable delay (default: 2 hours). Once it’s on, it goes to every client whose appointment is checked out by the time it’s due, with no client or service filter. An appointment checked out more than an hour after that is skipped, and so is a client who has turned that channel off or has no email or mobile number on file. A client gets at most one request in 30 days, and none for an appointment they’ve already reviewed.
Manual: Send from the appointment - the Review request card under Notifications on the Activity tab, or Send review request in the appointment’s three-dot menu on the Appointments list.
A manual send works even if the automated Review request is switched off - it goes out by email, immediately, so you can request a review from selected clients without turning automatic requests on for everyone. The client needs an email address and email notifications enabled.You can also share the link yourbookinglink/reviews/new with the clients you choose. The client signs in, picks one of their checked-out appointments that hasn’t been reviewed yet and leaves their review. It can be their own appointment or one for a family member, and the review shows the name of the client who wrote it.
Review requests use neutral wording with no incentives, complying with FTC and
consumer protection guidelines for review solicitation.
Published reviews appear on your online booking page:
Average star rating and total review count
Individual reviews with star ratings, text, and dates
Verified badge on reviews from organic appointments
Your public responses shown alongside reviews
Written reviews show highest rated first, and newest first within each rating. The page says so above the reviews. Ratings with no written review count towards your average and the star breakdown, but have no card of their own. Clients can tap a star bar to read only that rating. On yourbookinglink/reviews, Sort by also offers Newest and Lowest rated, so every review is easy to find. You can’t hide, pin or reorder individual reviews.Client names are displayed as first name and last initial (e.g., “Jane D.”) for privacy - matching industry standards.The reviews section only appears when your plan includes reviews, at least one published review exists, and you haven’t set Reviews to Hidden on Settings > Booking page > Page sections. After converting to a plan that does not include reviews, they are not shown anywhere public - including reviews imported during a trial.When you have published reviews, they also have a dedicated page at yourbookinglink/reviews. Search engines and AI assistants can read your booking profile and that reviews page as a structured listing of your business.
Team members with the reviews:respond permission can:
Add a response - visible on your booking page alongside the review
Suggest with AI - drafts a response that fits the rating and what the client wrote. Nothing is published until you edit it and select Save response. Suggest another gives you a different draft, and Restore my text puts back what you had typed
Edit or remove responses at any time
Responding to reviews - both positive and negative - shows potential clients
that you value feedback and are engaged with your community.
Q: Can I delete or hide negative reviews?
A: No. Businesses cannot delete or hide reviews. Only the platform can hide reviews that violate content guidelines. This ensures review integrity and builds trust with potential clients.Q: Do rating-only reviews (no text) go through moderation?
A: No. Rating-only reviews are published immediately since there is no text content to moderate.Q: What happens when a client edits a review that was previously hidden?
A: The review moves back to pending moderation so the edited content can be re-evaluated, and it stays there through any further edits until it’s been reviewed.Q: Can clients leave multiple reviews for the same appointment?
A: No. Each appointment can have at most one review.
