Introduction

The Client credit settings page turns on prepaid balances for your location and configures how clients top up. Client credit is a business-owned balance on each client profile — your team tops it up at the till, and it applies automatically at checkout. For day-to-day use (top-ups, refunds, ledger, liability report), see Client credit.

Accessing Client credit settings

  1. Go to Settings in the sidebar
  2. Click Client credit
Access: needs the Manage settings permission, and a plan that includes client credit (Professional and above, including trial).

Activating client credit

  1. Switch Client credit to Active
  2. Configure top-up amounts and optional bonuses (below)
  3. Click Save
When disabled:
  • No new top-ups can be taken
  • Existing balances stay spendable and refundable — client money is never stranded
  • The Wallet → Credit tools remain available for spend and refund flows

Top-up amounts

Set the quick-pick presets your team sees when topping up (for example 50 / 100 / 200 in your business currency). Optionally allow a custom amount with a minimum and maximum so staff can enter values outside the presets. Top-ups are settled at the till by cash, manual card, or other, or by charging a card on file. Connecting online payments is not required to take a top-up.

Top-up bonuses

Optional bonus tiers reward bigger top-ups — for example “top up 100, get 10 extra”.
  • Each tier has a threshold and a bonus (flat amount or percentage of the top-up)
  • The highest tier at or below the top-up amount applies — bonuses do not stack
  • Bonus credit is tracked separately from the client’s own money and is spent first at checkout
  • Bella blocks tiers that could be gamed (a bigger top-up can never earn a smaller bonus), and every threshold must sit within your top-up range

  • Client credit — top up, apply at checkout, refunds, ledger, and liability report
  • Gift cards — bearer codes vs client-bound balances
  • Reports — Client credit summary
